Child of war
From the beautiful tapestry of Southern California’s high desert comes the diverse rock band known as Child Of War. Combining styles ranging from the Foo Fighter to The Beatles to Jack White, the band takes uniqueness to a new universe. Formed in 2012 by long time friends and previous band mates Chris Gates, Joe Berry and Brett Keith. Child of War was originally conceived as an outlet of expression for musical freedom. The band line up consists of Chris Gates on Vocals, Guitar and Keys; Mike Rico on drums and percussion; Joe Berry on Vocals, Bass and Guitar; Paul Arthur on keys, trumpet, and guitar; and their newest member Ricardo Mauri on lead guitar.
In March of 2013 Child Of War released their self-titled and self produced album. This freshman project, along with their captivating and eclectic stage performance, gave the band huge local recognition. The single off the album, “It’s All Too Much”, was spun on independent and college radio stations for months after. It even landed them an exclusive licensing deal for television and film.
Since their release, Child Of War has been steadily booked at venues in Southern California. Performing at local concert halls to legendary scenes like the Viper Room, The Key Club, and The Glass House. With their eclectic approach, creative style, and multi-instrumentalist members, their live show is full of mesmerizing energy.
In June of 2015 Chris and Joe began writing and arranging their newest album “JADE”. Keeping with their universal indie rock character, Child Of War mixes it up again with everything from hard rock to blues, and even a crowd-pleasing ska track. The band took their passion and talent to new levels producing and recording at their newly designed home studio. The project was then mixed and mastered by long time associates LeQuid Bit Music Productions at the beautiful Hybrid Studios in Orange County, CA for a final embrace.
“JADE” will be released as a unique, double sided EP by Universal Music Group’s independent subsidiary, Lucent Records in the fall of 2016. Look for “JADE”, along with several enthralling music videos on iTunes and Spotify.
